Before you charge your car battery, you need to prepare it. There are some vehicles that require you to remove the battery before you charge it. Others can be charged with the battery inside of it. Consult with the owner's manual before you charge your vehicle. You need to turn off the electronics in your vehicle before you charge the battery. You then need to remove the negative or ground cable. After that, you need to remove the positive cable.
The next step is to clean the battery terminal. You are now ready to connect the car battery charge. Check the owner's manual in order to find out how long the battery needs to be charged. Take the battery off of the charger after it has finished charging. Make sure that the power is off before you touch the controls.
