When you’re late for an important meeting and you have to help someone jump start their car, you can do it in just under ten minutes with the following quick guide.

1. Park your car in such a way that the other car’s front side is facing you.
2. Make sure the proximity of the two cars is as close as possible.
3. Take out your jumping cables and locate your negative and positive battery terminals.
4. Locate the other car’s negative and positive battery terminals as well.
5. Take the red cable and connect it to the positive terminals of the two batteries one after the other, beginning with yours.
6. Take the black cable and connect one side to your battery’s negative terminal.
7. Take the other black side of the cable and position it on any other part of the engine that is metallic, but not the faulty battery’s negative terminal.
8. Power on your car followed by the other car. It should power on without much ado.
